KUTENO: Brabender with applications for sustainable plastics processing

“Aspects of sustainable plastics processing” is one of the core themes of this year’s KUTENO – Kunststofftechnik Nord in Rheda-Wiedenbrück. The event from May 9 to 11 is considered the industry meeting place for plastics experts and is completely booked out this year with 310 exhibitors in five halls. Also Brabender GmbH & Co. KG is taking part in the trade show in Hall 2 with its own booth G12, which offers a comprehensive market overview of technologies, components and solutions for plastics processing: “We want to use the event to talk to our customers and inform them about the latest product developments. The trade fair with its informal atmosphere is very suitable for networking”, emphasizes Michael Stanko, Business Development Manager at Brabender.
Developing biopolymers and processing battery masses
The Duisburg-based company will bring its high-performance drive unit, the MetaStation 4E and the Mini-Compounder B-TSE-A 12/36 to the trade show. The equipment can be used for numerous applications: “In addition to classic compounding, our laboratory solutions are also suitable for developing biopolymers and processing battery compounds”, explains Stanko. Other proven applications, however, include environmentally friendly packaging materials made from algae and ceramic extrusion for the production of catalysts.
The MetaStation 8E has a modular design so that kneaders and extruders can be connected as required. In addition, Brabender offers compatible measuring attachments and dies for all applications.
Wide range of applications
A product innovation from Brabender is the twin-screw extruder B-TSE-S 30/40 Big Compounder, which is the smallest and most space-saving compounding system in its category on the market. The Big Compounder can be used for formulation development and small-scale production of various extrudates from plastics or extrusion of anode and cathode materials on a conductive film. But it is also used for process development in the field of recycling.
